What is RSS?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is used by websites to easily distribute their web-based content to their regular users. RSS feeds contain short descriptions of web content together with a link to the full version of the content.

In order to receive RSS feeds, you need a desktop RSS feed reader (e.g. FeedReader for Windows and Vienna for Mac Os X), a plug-in for your existing web browser/e-mail client or an account with a personalized home page service (e.g. Google IG and Pageflakes).

Using one or more of the options selected from the above, you can follow their instructions to receive RSS feeds from your favorite news websites, blogs and of course Upstream!

RSS IconThe links for site RSS feeds are typically represented by the orange RSS icon (see left). By right-clicking on this icon, copying the link location and pasting it as a new feed into your RSS reader, you will start to automatically receive the latest content from that site.
